Boeing Profits Revenues up as Demand for Passenger Jets Increases


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Los Angeles October 23 (QNA) - Aircraft manufacturer Boeing reported a profit of 1.36 billion dollars in the third quarter an 18% increase from 1.16 billion dollars a year ago the Chicago-based company said Wednesday.

Sales rose by 7% to 23.8 billion dollars Boeing said.



The company cited a strong demand for passenger planes as it surpassed Wall Street analysts' expectations.

"We added net new orders for 501 commercial airplanes launched the high-capacity 737 MAX 200 captured a NASA contract for the Commercial Crew programme" Boeing chairman and chief executive Jim McNerney said.



Due to the strong quarterly results the company increased its outlook for the full year expecting earnings per share between 8.10 dollars and 8.30 dollars up from a previous range of 7.90 dollars per share to 8.10 dollars per share. (QNA)
