S. Korea's PM Urges Pyongyang to Come to Dialogue Table
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Seoul October 30 (QNA) - South Korea's Prime Minister Chung Hong-won has called on Pyongyang to have faith in Seoul’s sincerity for talks and to come to the table for inter-Korean dialogue and exchanges in a more earnest manner.
Attending the opening ceremony of the Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) on Thursday Chung said it would be difficult to assure permanent peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia with the Korean Peninsula remaining divided according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.
Noting there are many other risk factors for the region in various fields including politics economy and military the prime minister urged the participants of the security forum to come up with measures to expand regional cooperation beyond military into humanitarian aid disaster relief and maritime and cyber security.
The SDD is a Seoul-initiated multilateral security dialogue that holds the highest rank of its kind in Northeast Asia. Government officials and experts on defense and security in the Asia-Pacific region have participated in the talks since 2012. (QNA)
