Dubai: A taxi driver has been cleared of the charges of kidnapping a waitress and trying to sexually assault her when she rode in his car to go to her place.

The incident happened on April 2. The 34-year-old driver a Pakistani is believed to have driven to a sandy location in Nad Al Sheba where he allegedly threatened the woman of assaulting and killing her if she did not take off her clothes.
The Filipina woman 24 said in the prosecution investigation that the accused stopped and picked her up in Al Rafaa area and was supposed to take her home. “But he took another direction and did not start the meter. I asked him why he took that way and he told me to keep quiet”.
As she kept talking he shouted at her and stopped her from using her mobile phone.
“He then took out an iron rod and threatened that he would beat me if I called anyone”.
She cried in fear and then asked him to stop at a petrol station so she could buy water. “I wanted to step off the car when he pulls over”. But the driver would not listen and kept driving. He pulled over a few minutes later and told her to take off her clothes.
“As I refused he threatened he would kill me if I did not do as he wanted. I asked him again for water and I got off the car the moment he got distracted looking for a water bottle for me”. The accused then drove away.
