'Expats save more money as compared to Kuwaitis'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Oct 23 (Agencies): A recent census carried out by the Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau revealed a net income ratio for Kuwaiti nationals of 72. 1pct while non- Kuwaitis receive 91.4pct. The percentage reflects the amount of money people are left with after everyday expenses and during a workshop the CSB added that the average size of a Kuwaiti family is 7.7 people while non-Kuwaiti families include 4.3 members. On the types of accommodation it showed that 60.9pct of Kuwaiti families live in villas 28.5pct live in rented accommodation and 10.6 live in outdated houses.

Meanwhile it added that Kuwaiti families own 3.2 automobiles while non- Kuwaiti families own 1.1 on average. Kuwait occupies the third position in the Arab world and 6th in the world on the issue of high salaries compared to the recruitment rates according to a report issued by Gallup for Consultancy and Researches reports Al-Qabas daily. The report takes into account the full time Kuwaiti employees who take a lion's share in the salary scale.

The report says the UAE takes first place followed by Iceland Bahrain Sweden and Russia. The report also mentions 49 percent of the workers in Kuwait earn high salaries while in the UAE the figure is 59 percent.

Meanwhile Tanzania occupies the first position in the area of lowest salaries. And Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Development and Planning Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh issued a decision on Thursday dissolving Kuwait's Physical Therapy Association (KPTA). According to the ministerial resolution an interim board is to be formed and that it should elect a chairman a secretary and a treasurer from among the five assigned members during the first meeting to be held in three days. The dissolved board is to hand over all files and documents to the new council in a week starting date of issuing the decision.

Moreover the board should declare nomination for new elections within two months as off date of issuing the resolution. In an unrelated development the opening session of the National Assembly will get a closer look at the names of ministers who are expected to fill the vacant portfolios reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources. The sources said those who make the list the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Justice Faisal Al-Murshed and the National Assembly Secretary-General MP Yaqoub Al-Sane who have been nominated for the post of Minister of Justice and Minister of Education and Higher Education.
