S. Korea's Naver net profit doubles in Q3


(MENAFN) South Korea's Naver Corp. said its third-quarter net profit almost doubled compared to the year-ago period on a sharp increase of overseas sales, Yonhap News reported.

Net profit reached USD136 million in the July-September period of 2014, compared with USD70.9 million registered a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

South Korea's top Internet portal operator's operating income also increase, hitting USD180.11 million during the third quarter, rising from USD96.25 million in the previous year.

Overseas sales reached USD 220.14 million in the period, rising 52 percent from a year ago to account for 33 percent of its total revenue. However, domestic sales declined 2.5 percent to USD446.95 million.
