S. Korea logs current account surplus for 31 months


(MENAFN) According to the South Korean central bank, the country has posted a current account surplus for 31 consecutive months on a robust export growth, Xinhua reported.

According to the Bank of Korea (BOK), the country's current account surplus came at USD7.62 billion in September, increasing from USD7.2 billion registered a month earlier.

In the January-September period of 2014, the surplus reached USD61.86 billion, increasing from USD55.04 billion registered in the same period last year, the data showed.

The BOK had expected the current account surplus to reach USD84 billion in the whole year of 2014, topping the previous record high of USD79.9 billion posted in 2013.
