Six Missing after Cargo Ship Sinks in Central China


(MENAFN- QNA) Six people are missing after a cargo ship sank in the Yangtze River in central China's Hubei Province on Tuesday night, local authorities said Wednesday.

The accident happened in Yichang City when the ship, named Honghai 001, was transporting crushed stones, according to the municipal government.

Two out of eight crew members aboard the ship were rescued while the others remain missing.

The search is under way at the scene, China's News Agency (Xinhua).

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
