Qatar, Britain sign security cooperation agreement


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Qatar and Britain signed on Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on security cooperation in a step aimed at enhancing friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries.

On the occasion of Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's three-day visit to the Kingdom, Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Attiyah signed the MoU with British Home Secretary Theresa May.

A number of officials from both sides attended the signing ceremony.

The Qatari leader held various meetings with a number of British officials, including a meeting with May.

Sheikh Tamim held talks with Defense Secretary Michael Fallon on fostering military cooperation.

Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim is scheduled tomorrow to meet Prime Minister David Cameron.
