Argentine Ambassador Lauds Qatar- Argentina Relations


(MENAFN- QNA) HE Argentine Ambassador to Qatar Rossana Cecilia Surballe described the 14-year-old Qatar- Argentina relations as distinguished, adding that during this period leaders and officials of the two countries exchanged visits and signed a set of agreements in different fields.

Surballe made the remarks during a symposium on the Argentine -Qatari relations, organized by the Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Institute and attended by a group of trainees at the Institute and the Ministry staff.

During the symposium, HE the Argentine Ambassador gave the participants a background about her country's political, economic and social development in order to illustrate potential to cooperate with Qatar in various fields.

   Surballe explained that there are significant investment opportunities, especially in the fields of food, tourism, energy and even scientific fields, expressing hope cooperation ties with Qatar during the upcoming period would further develop.

   She stressed that the Arab countries, particularly Qatar, from which Argentina imports gas, have a special priority to Argentina due to the historical relations maintained with them.

   She pointed out that Argentina recognized the State of Palestine, supported the two-state solution and recently provided a special entry visas for the Syrians who want to go to Argentina for humanitarian reasons.
