Dubai Airport passenger traffic up 9.9 percent in September

(MENAFN) Dubai International Airport said that passenger traffic through it grew by 9.9 percent in September in comparison with the same month last year to reach 5.94 million people, Gulf News reported.

Meanwhile, during the January-September period of this year, passenger traffic at Dubai International registered an increase by 6.2 percent to 52.42 million people, an increase which is attributed to an increase in the use of wide-bodied aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 777, particularly by Dubai airline Emirates.

The airport also said that during September, freight volume rose 2.8 percent in to 202.415 tons, while the volume totaled 1.76 million tons, down 1.7 percent during the January-September period due to the shift of dedicated freighter flights to Al Maktoum International, Dubai's other commercial airport.
