GCC delegation, Chinese officials hold "successful talks"

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A GCC delegation held a series of in-depth talks with leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC), senior officials of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and economic and public figures on a range of bilateral, regional and international issues of common concern.

The talks showed that both sides hold identical views on almost all issues discussed and are keen on further strengthening their ties in all fields, head of the delegation Mohammad Saud Al-Mutairi said on Monday.

"There is a political will to take the exemplary relationship between the two sides to a new height and promote integration in the economic, commercial and energy domains in order to serve the common interests," Al-Mutairi affirmed.

"The two sides agreed to enhance the cultural exchanges and hold symposiums to bring the peoples of the GCC countries and China closer to each other," he pointed out.

Before wrapping up their visit yesterday, the GCC delegation met deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, director of the West Asia and North Africa Dept. of the Foreign Ministry and representatives of several government bodies.

They visited China National School of Administration (CNSA), China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), China Center for International Affairs and Shanghai Pilot Free-Trade Zone.

They also took part in the Silk Road Cooperation Dialogue which discussed the status quo and the outlook of the GCC-China relations.

The forum focused on the vision of Chinese President Xi Jinping for developing the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and calls for the deep integration and development of Asian countries.
