Qatar- QE chief to discuss stock exchange issues at annual WFE meetings


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Exchange participated in the 2014 annual meetings of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), which begins there today in the presence of representatives of 60 WFE member exchanges and market operators responsible for the functioning of key components in the financial world.

The annual meetings began with a meeting for the Working Committee, which was held yesterday morning. A meeting of the WFE Board of Directors was followed in the afternoon. The opening ceremony of the annual convention will be held tomorrow morning.

During his stay in the Korean capital, Qatar Exchange CEO Rashid bin Ali Al Mansoori will hold a series of meetings with senior officials in a number of Arab and international stock exchanges and will also participate in the discussion panels, which will be held over two days and address a number of issues of concern to exchanges and investors.

During the General Assembly meetings, which will be held today, an election session will be held to elect a new chairman, vice-chairman, chairman of the working committee, and a members of the Board of Directors to fill a number of vacancies in the Council.

It is noteworthy that the World Federation of Exchanges was established in 1961. It has now 60 Stock Exchange members and has recently moved its headquarters from France to Britain.
