Rousseff wins narrow victory in Brazil's presidential runoff
(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff won her bid for a
second four-year term on Sunday by narrowly defeating challenger
Aecio Neves, official results show, according to dpa.
Rousseff, 66, of the centre-left Workers' Party (PT), received 51.45
per cent to Neves' 48.55 per cent. With 98 per cent of the votes
counted, there was no possibility of Neves catching up to Rousseff's
lead.
Neves conceded and congratulated Rousseff in a telephone call,
wishing her success in her second term.
Rousseff will begin another four-year term on January 1, 2015.
