International Gas Processing Symposium Opens in Doha


(MENAFN- QNA) Led by industry leaders, decision-makers and top academia around 200 experts attended the Fourth International Gas Processing Symposium and exhibition that opened here Sunday under the patronage of HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada.

Gas Research Center of the University of Qatar is the organizer of the Symposium that focuses on finding solutions to the challenges the gas industry faces.

In her welcome address, Qatar University President Professor Shaikha Abdulla Al Misned said, "Over the course of few short years, this event has become a highly anticipated gathering of industrial managers, engineers and academia.

"It has provided opportunities to all parties to meet and discuss the latest trends, challenges and solutions in this vital component of our national economy as well as the global economy.

"With a rich programme of keynote speakers, technical sessions and plenary presentations this year's symposium promises to provide another compelling mix of industry insights and academic research findings that will undoubtedly benefit all participants." Qatar Petroleum Managing Director Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Rasgas Chief Operations Officer Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, ExxonMobil Qatar Vice President Alistair Routledge, Dolphin Engery General Manager Adel Ahmed Albuainain, Orgyx GTL CEO Abdul Rahman Al Suwaidi and Qatar Fuel Additives Company CEO Nasser Jeham Al Kuwari spoke at the event.

Other participants attending the symposium are knowledge partners European Federation of Chemical Engineering, American Institute of Chemical Engineering and Association of Gas Processors’ GGC Chapter.

The sessions probed environmental sustainability, natural gas processing methods, energy efficiency, design and safety in gas processing, and high production costs.
