Toyota has no plans to ask parts suppliers to cut prices
(MENAFN) Toyota Motor Corp. decided not to ask parts suppliers to lower prices for the October to March second half of fiscal 2014, instead of
seeking usual cuts of 1 to 1.5 percent, Kyodo News reported.
The move is intended to pass on some of the company"s profits to the suppliers amid its brisk performance. Its group operating profit is projected to hit a record-high of USD21.26 in the current fiscal year.
Toyota requested that suppliers lower prices by less than 1 percent in the April to September first half. It initially planned to seek roughly the same scale of cuts, but decided to further support them.
