Bombing attack kills 7 Iraqi soldiers in N.Baghdad


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least seven Iraqi soldiers were killed and 22 others injured in a suicide bombing attack on a military camp in Taji in northern Baghdad Saturday.

A suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden belt in a crowd of Iraqi soldiers at the entrance of Taji camp, a security source told KUNA.

The source added that seven soldiers were killed on the spot and 22 other wounded, many critically, by the powerful blast.

Following the explosion, the military and police forces cordoned off the area and ambulances rushed the wounded soldiers to nearby hospitals for treatment, he said.

Earlier, the Iraqi Operation Command announced that at least 20 militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed in military raids west of the capital Baghdad.
