Arab Parliament's General Committee discusses latest regional developments


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab Parliament's General Committee convened here Saturday to discuss regional development and proposed agenda of the upcoming legislative session, to start Monday.

In a press conference statement following the meeting, the Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmad Al-Jarawan stated the conferees tackled the latest political developments in the Arab region and preparations for holding the coming third legislative session.

The agenda features several key issues such as the Palestinian cause, occupied UAE islands, plans for the development of Arab Parliament's mechanism of work and the proposed budget for 2015, he said.

Al-Jarawan said the meeting also touched upon preparations for the Arab national security symposium which will kick off in Cairo Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Arab top lawmaker said he denounced the cowardly terrorist attack against Egyptian military personnel in Sinai Peninsula on Friday in which over 30 soldiers were killed.

He expressed Arab lawmakers' solidarity and support with the Egyptian leadership in its fight against terrorism.
