Egypt's FM instructs envoys to inform world of "terrorist incident"

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Saturday instructed his aides and ambassadors to inform the world of Friday's bombs that hit Egypt's North Sinai, which led to the killing and wounding of scores of soldiers.

Shoukry told Egyptian diplomats abroad to communicate effectively with countries across the globe, asking them for cooperation in order to uproot terrorism, Foreign Ministry's spokesman Bader Abulaati was quoted by Middle East News Agency (MENA) as saying.

Shoukry told the ministry's senior officials to meet with all foreign ambassadors in Cairo and brief them on the procedures will be taken as a reaction to the blasts, Abdulaati said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi said that measures are underway to uproot the security enigma in the border area of Rafah, North Sinai.

Al-Sisi in a republican decree has declared a three-month state of emergency in parts of the Sinai Peninsula for security reasons, Abdulaati added.

Shoukry stressed that the government is keen on the safety of civilians and the state of emergency was imposed only on certain parts in North Sinai and South Sinai, which has stability, is not included in the decree, noted Abdulaati.
