Dubai launches medical tourism packages


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) For tourists some packages include hotel stay and flight tickets while for residents it offers discounted rates for certain medical services.

Dubai medical tourism wellness and checkup packages for residents and visitors were launched during the inaugural Health Regulations Conference in Dubai on Wednesday.

Packages on offer



DHA’s Primary Health Care Sector Wellness Packages include packages for men women elderly and adolescents. Packages are inclusive of counselling and several tests and discounts of between 25-40 per cent.



VLCC:Flat 40 per cent discount on certain slimming and beauty treatments.



Kaya Skin clinic:Complementary dermatology counselling and Dh200 discount voucher. The clinic is offering 25 per cent off on their laser hair removal services.



Silkor:Offering discount of a variety of skin and hair packages including discount on laser hair removal.



Bourn Hall:Ten per cent discount of fertility treatments and free counselling for those who come to the stand during the exhibition.



Zulekha Hospital:Discount on certain packages.



Al Zahra Hospital: Twenty per cent off on women’s and men’s health packages and 30 per cent off on breast cancer screening.



Canadian Specialist Hospital:Ten to 35 percent discount on packages including osteoporosis diabetes fatty liver prostate cervical cancer anti-natal etc.



Neuro-Spinal Hospital:Certain discounted packages.



Medcare Hospital: Breast cancer screening including mammogram for Dh350. Offer available until end of December. Normally mammogram costs Dh650 and the discount amounts to roughly 70 per cent.

Packages for medical tourists will also be launched soon through tour operators approved by Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Emirates Holidays and Department of Naturalisation and Residency Dubai (DNRD) and will include visas hotel stay and sightseeing for patients and accompanying family members.



Dr Layla Al Marzouqi Acting-Director of Health Regulation Department said: “Dubai has a strong medical sector and excellent tourism facilities. We are working closely with the private sector to roll out wellness and other medical tourism packages.”



She said the packages will cater to both residents and tourists. “For tourists some packages include hotel stay and flight tickets. For residents it offers discounted rates for certain medical services. The packages are comprehensive and extremely convenient.”



The packages can be bought either at the venue or by contacting the healthcare facilities.
