Qatar- Interior Ministry signs deal worth QR329m at Milipol


(MENAFN- The Peninsula)  The total number of people who visited the recently concluded Milipol Qatar exhibition reached 6,583 persons from 63 countries, according to a press statement.

Brig Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, President of Milipol Qatar, said that the number of visitors this year represented a growth of 13 percent compared to Milipol 2012. Almost 217 media persons attended to cover the activities of the exhibition representing different media networks.

A total of 146 official delegations from 30 countries took part in the event.

According to Brig Nasser, the total number of exhibiting companies reached 261 from 36 countries with a growth of seven percent more than Milipol 2012.

Belgium, Cyprus, Portugal, Romania, Republic of Slovakia and Taiwan were the new countries participated in the exhibition this year.

The total floor plan of the exhibition was 6,055 sq metres which made a growth of 12 percent more than the previous exhibition.

The milpol Qatar exhibition is hosted every after two years in co-operation with France and it features optics and op-tronics equipment; consultancy, training and related services; mobility; personnel equipment and fabrics; major risks, crisis management and civil emergencies; specific transverse technologies; body inspection systems; fast-scan vehicle inspection systems; law enforcement cameras; and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Muriel Kafantaris, the director of Milipol Paris said that the exhibition had achieved great success in regards of the figures and statistics announced.

Similarly the number of deals also increased this year with deals worth QR329m whereas the total amount of the previous Milipol deals was QR252m.

Brig Saud Rashid Al Shafi a member of the Milpol committee said that some deals of Ministry of Interior were not finalised due to lack of time as the procedures will be concluded in the coming week and more deals worth QR20m will be concluded soon that would make the total value QR329m.

These deals are intended to buy security devices, military equipment and radars for different departments of the Ministry.
