Boeing posts higher-than-expected earnings in Q3

(MENAFN) US Boeing posted higher-than-expected earnings and raised its full-year profit forecast for the third quarter in a row on increased commercial aircraft deliveries, Arab News reported.

Earnings for the third quarter reached USD1.36 billion, up 17.6 percent from a year ago. Key drivers included a jump to 186 commercial aircraft deliveries, up from 170 in the 2013 period.

The US aerospace giant's revenues rose 7.5 percent to USD23.78 billion, more than the USD23.02 billion projected by analysts. Boeing shares dipped 0.1 percent to USD127 in pre-market trade.

Boeing logged higher profits in its military aircraft unit, due to increased deliveries of the P-8 vehicle developed for the US Navy. However, revenues fell in the government satellite and global services businesses.
