Scottish manufactured goods exports up 2.8 percent in Q2


(MENAFN) New figures published showed that the volume of Scottish manufactured goods sales to overseas markets grew by 2.8 percent in the April-June quarter, Xinhua reported.

Exports of refined petroleum, chemical and pharmaceutical products grew by 4.4 percent, while engineering and allied industries exports rose by 4.7 percent in the second-quarter period.

On an annual basis, the volume of manufactured exports edged up by 0.5 percent in the current year over a year ago, Scottish Index of Manufactured Exports released figures showed.

Over a year ago, non-metallic products and other manufacturing and repair increased 11.4 percent, metals and metal products grew 20.3 percent and textiles, clothing and leather rose 10.6 percent.
