Living History Organization Offers Personal Stories and Insights into Major Historical Events

(MENAFNEditorial)

School children are often taught to accept the facts they read in history books which are for the most part accurate. As we grow up however we often learn that “history” is much more fluid than our textbooks have led us to believe. History is often influenced by numerous factors including author's perspective political agenda and cultural biases. In an effort to capture the reality of major historical events without the distortion of these external influences the social enterprise Living History seeks to interview and record people who actually lived through these events like the bombing of Hiroshima or the peace rallies of the 1960's. As a key feature of this project historians with Living History provide a valuable framework of historical analysis and context for amateur historians and videographers as they interview subjects. These historians will strive to add depth and richness to the important interviews that will often be produced by everyday people.

Living History is a vital project that seeks to capture the scope and authenticity of major historical events by learning from people who were on the front lines when they occurred. Historians will establish the undisputed facts of these events while videographers and journalists—as well as ordinary people—will conduct interviews with the surviving eyewitnesses. These personal accounts will not only add an authenticity that can't be found in any other way but will also make that history more impactful and real to today's students of history.

The Living History organization is eager to find and interview these witnesses to some of the most important happenings of the last century but time is not on their side. Every day more of these firsthand accounts are lost as these people pass away. You can help Living History preserve their personal experience by financially supporting this important project. Living History founders Dr. Sarah Arndt Aaron Sturm and Keith Eldridge have sponsored a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo. If successful the $15000 raised will be used to develop a website collect video submissions and distribute these stories with the world. In return for your generous support you may receive valuable rewards like magnets input on historical topics video calls with Living History founders and promotional opportunities in Living History videos.
