(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) On Syria, the ambassador expressed deep concern about the escalation of acts of destruction, violence, murder and heinous crimes committed against the Syrian people as well as the accompanying serious deterioration of the humanitarian situation and failure in the application of Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2165 because of the intransigence of the Syrian regime.
The ambassador stated the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's emphasis on the need to reach a negotiated political solution in the fastest time.
He also called for ensuring that there is no place in this solution for those who have their hands stained with the blood of more than two hundred thousand Syrian citizens and those who have committed crimes against humanity, including the use of aerial bombardment, blazing barrels, missiles and chemical weapons.
