China's retail sales up 11.6 percent growth in September


(MENAFN) Improvement in China's consumer spending continued to slow down in September as the country's third-quarter growth was at its slowest pace since the global financial crisis, QNA reported.

The country's retail sales grew 11.6 percent from one year earlier in September, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The volume of growth has decreased for four months in a row.

During the first nine months of the year, retail sales grew 12 percent annually USD3.08 trillion.

Retail sales increase in rural areas outpaced that in urban China. In the January-September period, sales in rural regions grew 13 percent from a year ago USD423.3 billion, while sales in urban areas jumped 11.9 percent USD2.65 trillion.
