Coca-Cola global revenue edge down in Q3

(MENAFN) Coca-Cola reported a record in global sales volume in the July-September quarter, but net earnings dipped sharply on slower economic growth and unstable currencies, AFP reported.

Soft drinks giant reported a slight decrease in total operating revenues around the world to USD11.98 billion for the third quarter, while net income dropped 13.6 percent to USD2.12 billion.

Coke attributed the poor performance it faced to volatile foreign exchange markets and especially the strengthening of the US dollar against most other currencies which took a toll on the company.

The company has also faced slower soft drinks consumption in the United States, its leading market, as consumers turn to alternatives to super-sweet fizzy soda pops.
