"The Business, Society, and Public Policy Initiative will allow us to capitalise on our unique location in Washington, DC € the nexus of global business and policy," said David A Thomas, dean of the McDonough School of Business. "This initiative will ensure that the themes of business, society, and public policy are woven through the student experience by enhancing connections among students, faculty, and thought leaders in both the classroom and business world."

For students, the initiative will see that the Georgetown McDonough experience includes an emphasis on the impact that public decision making can have on the dynamism of business and, in turn, the extraordinary influence business can have on society. The initiative will also provide a platform for faculty research and a nonpartisan, global venue to address critical business issues of the day.

The Business, Society, and Public Policy Initiative will sponsor a wide array of events to engage students and the global community, including upcoming lectures by prominent business and government leaders.

"This initiative will strengthen the comparative advantage that both the McDonough School of Business and Georgetown University have enjoyed in tackling critical issues facing business, government, and society," said Moore. "From opening new horizons for all of our students to providing the general public with greater insights into the challenges and opportunities we face, we intend to make a clear difference."
