Kuwait- Minister vows tough action against rotten food traders


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Oct 20 (KUNA): Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Essa Al- Kandari said that firm action would be taken against greedy traders trading in inedible food. In his speech at the meeting of Kuwaiti Municipality's higher committee for planning and coordination the Minister stressed that the administrative deportation rules would be applied against non-Kuwaiti traders who are involved in trade of spoiled food. He called on Kuwaiti Municipality's affiliated market control bodies to intensify efforts to crackdown on companies and individuals trading in inedible expired or spoiled foodstuff and to report all cases to the prosecution to take required legal actions. Agencies add: Forged sign withdrawal: Police are looking for unidentified an Arab expatriate for stealing a cheque book from a well-known businessman forging his signature and withdrawing KD 75000 reports Al-Shahed daily. According to security sources the suspect is a former employee of the company. Acase has been registered in Salhiya Police Station.

Mine hurts shepherd: An Asian shepherd whose identity has not been disclosed has been referred to the intensive care unit of the Jahra Hospital with serious injuries reports Al-Shahed daily. The man was injured after he allegedly accidentally stepped on a land mine in Salmi. The mine is believed to be remnant of ordnances left behind the Iraqi army in 1991.
