Alizz islamic bank organises special event to mark Omani Women's Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Alizz islamic bank celebrated at  its head office the Omani Women's Day which falls on October 17 every year. 

The celebration was attended by alizz staff in recognition of the role and effort of Oman's women in shaping the success of the country who are as praised by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said as half of Oman's potential.

A number of exciting activities took place at the celebrations including speeches by inspiring staff speakers who pointed out the continuous participation of the Omani women in different fields. Token gifts of appreciation were also presented to the attendants.

Maimuna al Sulaimani head of legal affairs at alizz islamic bank gave an inspirational speech to the audience. Maimuna shed light on the nature of work in the private sector and the improvements made to the employment regulations particularly those related to Omanisation. She also highlighted the advantages of working in the private sector such as diversity and exposure to various cultures and the challenges including the perception of the private sector. She concluded her speech with an aspiration for Omani women to be further trusted with a mandatory percentage of representation in senior management and board of directors of publicly listed companies.

In addition Muna al Khusaibi call centre supervisor talked about the pursuit of the objectives set to achieve the desired success. She emphasised Omani women's ability to overcome the challenges and defeat the obstacles that may hold them back. Muna stressed that the challenges should not impede on women who are capable to work and contribute.

Aisha al Kharusi assistant general manager of marketing and corporate communications  said ' According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) Omani women represent 49 per cent of the total Omani population.
