Fatah urges UNSC to assume its responsibility for ending Israeli occupation

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Fatah Revolutionary Council (FRC) Monday warned UN Security Council (UNSC) against failure to assume its responsibility and put an end to Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

In the final statement after the FRC's meeting, Assistant Secretary General Fahmi Zaarir said that the peace process will fail if the UNSC does not take an action against Israel.

He added the FRC decided to mandate Fatah's Central Committee to take any decisions aimed at suspending negotiations with Israel and all other obligations mentioned in the Oslo Accords.

He noted that Israel wants to use negotiations to extend occupation and to manage conflict not to end it, saying time set for negotiations is over.

Zaarir stressed that joining international institutions in particular International Criminal Court is a Palestinian decision that should made by the end of this year.

Any Israeli law seeks to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque is null according to the principles of international law, he said, adding this move will cause an explosion in the entire region.
