Pakistans MQM replies to Bilawals criticism says PPP destroyed Karachi

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Bilawal had said the MQM has been in power in Karachi for three decades and everybody knows what has become of countrys financial hub in terms of development and law and order.

In a sharp rejoinder to PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s criticism at public rally in Karachi on Saturday the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) condemned his remarks against party chief Altaf Hussain.

Addressing the rally Bilawal had said that the MQM chief make statements against everybody as he pleased and wished. He said the MQM has been in power in Karachi for three decades and everybody knows what has become of country’s financial hub in terms of development and law and order.

In a tit-for-tat response on Sunday the MQM Rabita Committee said the PPP has ruled Sindh for almost 43 years and questioned what it had achieved in these years. It further observed that the PPP has in fact destroyed Karachi.

In a statement it further said that MQM chief Altaf had always stood against feudalism and dynastic politics and had remained popular in the hearts of party supporters despite the “conspiracies of his enemies”. His political struggle of 36 years had turned the culture of feudalism and dynastic politics into an insult.

The party also questioned what the PPP had done specifically for its strong bastions Naudero and Larkana during the past 43 years. It alleged that the people of these areas were still living in abject poverty. The statement claimed that when the MQM received authority in Karachi for five years it had changed the map of the city. -newskhaleejtimes.com
