Israeli Army Minister Stresses Importance of Israel's Relations with US


(MENAFN- QNA) Israeli Army Minister Moshe Ya'alon will discuss during his five-day visit to the United States a number of issues such as the Iranian nuclear program, Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the recent war in Gaza and the progress of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Ya'alon said in a statement "Israel has a deep relationship with the United States, we really appreciate this connection. Differences of opinion must not overshadow the deeper relationship between the United States and Israel. We greatly appreciate the deep connection between the two defense establishments. We have shared values and common interests." During the visit, Ya'alon will meet with his American counterpart Chuck Hegel and security officials, as well as UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
