Turkish President Discusses Syria with US Counterpart


(MENAFN- QNA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation on Sunday with US President Barack Obama to discuss efforts to stop the advances of the Islamic State (ISIS).

The two also discussed the latest developments of the Syrian crisis. They focused specifically on Turkish aid to more than 1.5 million Syrian refugees Turkey hosts. Some 180,000 of those were displaced as a result of fighting in Kobane.

They stressed on the importance of maintaining cooperation between the two administrations to maintain peace and stability.
