Ryanair eyes more growth in the European market

(MENAFN) Irish Ryanair bids becoming one of the world's biggest carriers which will allow it to focus on higher-frequency routes and more domestic flights in core European markets, Oman Observer reported.

Ryanair, which is already Europe's largest airline in terms of passenger numbers, selling over 80 million tickets last year, is targeting a 50 percent growth in passenger numbers by 2019.

Most growth will come from increasing capacity in core European markets like Germany, Poland and the UK rather than breaking into new markets like the former Soviet Union and Middle East.

The low-cost carrier estimates that around 20 million of its 83 million annual passengers are business travellers, aiming to increase that number to between 30 million and 36 million passengers.
