Eight killed including army commander, 31 injured in Baghdad attacks


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Eight Iraqis, including five soldiers and an army commander, were killed and 31 others were injured in three attacks across Baghdad on Sunday.

A suicide bomber attacked a military base while riding an explosive-strapped bicycle in western Baghdad. The attack led to the immediate death of a brigade commander, two soldiers and two of his aides, according to sources.

Only two hours earlier, the village of Zaidan west of Baghdad witnessed armed clashes resulting in the death of two soldiers and the injury of 23 others, while an improvised device explosion in the northern Baghdad area of Al-Mushada killed one and injured eight soldiers.
