(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Tennis Association (OTA) will send an all-boys team for the GCC U12 and U16 Tennis Championships which will be played in Manama Bahrain from November 17-22.
Also the OTA board which met under the chairmanship of Mutassim al Zadjali on Thursday decided to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on October 22 to incorporate amendments into the OTA statutes as recommended by the Ministry of Sports Affairs.
The OTA board also announced the schedules of the forthcoming tournaments starting with the Oman Arab Bank (OAB) Open which begins on October 22. The other events include the second Dhofar Open in Salalah from November 1-15 and the junior monthly event in the last week of November.
The national U13 team is currently taking part in a West Asia tournament in Lebanon. Aisha al Suleimani is the only girl in the side while the boys' team comprises Muneer al Rawahi Ali al Sarhani and Aiyad al Khanjari.
Newly-appointed coach Richard Martinez of the Philippines is accompanying the team.
