Eight Iraqis killed, 34 injured in blasts S. Baghdad


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Eight people were killed and 34 others wounded in a number of explosions that took place in southern districts of the Iraqi capital, a security source said Saturday.

An IED went off inside a popular cafe in Mahmoudiyah city, south Baghdad, killing one civilian and wounding eight others, a security source in the Iraqi police stated to KUNA, adding that the explosion caused damages to the cafe and neighboring stores.

Another IED exploded inside a popular cafe in Al-Madain district, southern Baghdad, killing four civilians and injuring 14 others, the Iraqi police said, adding that the blast cause a fire outbreak inside the cafe, causing severe damages to the cafe and nearby stores.

Meanwhile, an IED went off In Al-Ghazaliya district, western outskirts of Baghdad, killing three civilians and wounding 12 others, Iraqi police added.
