Catalyst Qatar buys Germany's Kunst Stoff


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Catalyst Qatar, a company involved in the design and development of software applications and games, announced that it has agreed to acquire Kunst Stoff, a reputable German company in the electronic media field. The agreement was signed in Berlin, Germany on the sidelines of the fourth annual Qatari-German joint committee meeting and in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Commerce H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Qatari ambassador to Germany and the German ambassador to Qatar.

Catalyst is one of the first private Qatari companies to invest in the technology sector and is a valuable addition to the Qatari market. The company hopes to provide technical skills and specialised knowledge of technology, both uncommon in Qatar and the region.

Sheikh Turki bin Faisal Al Thani, Founder and CEO of Catalyst, said: "The technology sector and computer engineering has been witnessing major developments on a global scale, as can be seen its positive impacts on education, health, entertainment and other fields. In Qatar, there are a number of important factors that encourage investment in technology, such as the country's continued economic success, the presence of many young people, who make up the majority of Qatar's population, and the development of our telecommunications infrastructure.

"Catalyst aims to attract specialised skills from the technology field to Qatar making it the expertise hub in the region. The company hopes to teach young people about technology by establishing training centres that specialise in computer engineering, the design and development of programmes, applications, games and other forms of interactive electronic media
