(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Twenty-six new pharmacy students took the Oath of a Pharmacist and donned the symbolic pharmacist's White Coat in the 8th annual ceremony of Qatar University's College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH).
The students also signed the Pledge of Professionalism in which they promised to uphold integrity and ethical behaviour and to honour the profession. Special guest, QU Associate VP for Faculty Affairs, Dr Khalid Al Ali was joined by students' family members, friends, CPH faculty, alumni and staff to celebrate the students' achievement.
The cloakers were representatives from Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra Medical & Research Center, Primary Health Care Corporation, Ebn Sina Medical, Well Care Group, International Medical Company, and the College of Pharmacy.
CPH Assistant Dean for Students Affairs Alla El Awaisi said: "Being a student at the College of Pharmacy is not an easy endeavour. Our students go through rigorous theoretical and practical study in preparation for a professional life in the pharmacy, medical and healthcare sectors. We prepare them to provide the Qatari society with optimal health care in line with the values expressed in the national health strategy and development goals. This symbolic event is just the beginning of a long journey that will open them to a wide range of opportunities that will develop their potential and ready them to contribute to advancing the health and welfare of the Qatari community".
CPH Dean Dr Ayman El Kadi told the students: "There has never been a better time to study pharmacy with the increased importance the profession is gaining in Qatar. The College is continuing its mission to fulfil the growing demands of the health care sector by establishing a range of undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral programs, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. I encourage you to become lifelong learners in your role as providers of optimum patient care to your community."
