UAE's passenger numbers to increase 5.6 percent in 20 years


(MENAFN) The number of passengers travelling to and from the United Arab Emirates is expected to increase at a higher rate than the regional average over the next 20 years, Gulf News reported.

The forecast showed passengers travelling to and from the UAE will increase at an average annual pace of 5.6 percent until 2034. The Middle East is expected to grow annually by 4.9 percent and will see an extra 237 million.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) projects global passenger numbers to reach 7.3 billion by 2034, an average annual growth of 4.1 percent, more than double the 3.3 billion passengers expected to travel this year.
