Qatar Exchange Index Drops 888.90 Points This Week


(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Exchange index lost 888.90 points (6.43%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday at 12,942.00 points.

Trading value during this week increased by 3.11% to reach QR 2,828,502,582.23 compared to QR 2,743,186,035.05 last week.

Trading volume decreased by 18.00% to reach 53,608,447 shares, as against 65,373,075 shares. The number of transactions rose by 9.12%, to reach 29,066 transactions as compared to 26,636 transactions.

Market capitalization fell by 5.86% to reach QR 699,385,370,630.94 as compared to QR 742,895,677,169.83 at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 43.99% of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 23.72%. Real Estate sector ranked third accounted for 16.49% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 6.83%.

The Real Estate sector led traded volume this week with 38% of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 28.92%. Industries sector ranked third accounted for 12.88% and Telecoms sector accounted for 9.54%.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 32.05% of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 30.14%. Real Estate sector ranked third accounted for 18.53% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 7.19%.

Of the 43 listed companies, three ended this week higher, while 40 fell.

QNB led traded value this week accounted for 15.67% of the total traded value. Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 11.12% and Industries Qatar accounted for 9.38%.
