Europe stocks take fright at weak Spanish bond auction

(MENAFN- AFP) European stocks dropped sharply on Thursday after Spain fell short of target in a sale of long-term bonds amid acute concern over a global growth slowdown which has hit market confidence.

The Paris, Milan, Madrid, Lisbon and Amsterdam exchanges each fell by more than 3 percent, while Frankfurt was down more than 2 percent and London 1.8 percent.
