(MENAFN- QNA) HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud met here Thursday with Head of the African Union - United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and AU-UN Joint Special Representative Mohamed Ibn Chambas on the occasion of ending his tenure in Darfur.
During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments of the peace process in Darfur and the progress of the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
Mohammed Ibn Chambas extended thanks to the State of Qatar for the sincere cooperation he received and for the great efforts for peace and development in Darfur.
For his part, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs expressed his appreciation for UNAMID Head for his efforts to maintain security, stability and peace in Darfur, wishing him success in his new post as the special representative of UN Secretary General and head of the UN Office in West Africa.
