25 Taliban Killed, 10 Injured in Clearing Operations in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- QNA) At least 25 Taliban militants were killed and 10 others were injured following joint military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past.

The Afghan Ministry of Interior said in a statement Thursday that the operations were conducted jointly by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.

The statement further added the operations were conducted in Paktiya, Khost, Ghazni, Zabul, Kandahar, Jowzjan, Kapisa, Kunduz and Helmand provinces, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

The ministry said 25 armed Taliban members were killed, ten wounded and four others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.

Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition, the statement added.

According to the ministry, Afghan National Police discovered and defused five different types of IEDs placed by enemies of Afghanistan for destructive activities in Jowzjan and Zabul provinces.

Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
