5 airstrikes in Iraq, 18 in Syria target ISIL - CENTCOM
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) US military forces continued to attack ISIL militants in Iraq on Tuesday and Wednesday, using attack and fighter aircraft to conduct five airstrikes, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
Separately, US military forces deployed bomber and fighter aircraft on Tuesday and Wednesday to conduct 18 airstrikes against the ISIL militants in Syria, he said in a statement.
In Iraq, one airstrike near Haditha Dam destroyed one ISIL armed vehicle and one ISIL guard shack, he said, adding four airstrikes near Bayji destroyed an ISIL building, an ISIL Humvee and an ISIL machine gun, and damaged an ISIL artillery piece.
In Syria, 18 airstrikes near the Syrian town of Ain Al-Arab (Kobane) destroyed multiple ISIL fighting positions and successfully struck 16 ISIL occupied buildings, the statement said.
