GOIC Participates in 'Invest in Bahrain Forum 2014'

(MENAFN- QNA) The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) took part for the third consecutive year in the "Invest in Bahrain Forum 2014," which opened Wednesday in Bahrain.

GOIC Secretary General Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Ageel gave a speech in which he thanked Bahrain's Ministry of Industry and Commerce for inviting GOIC to the forum. "The Organization attaches great importance to the participation at this forum and believes this event is a priority item on its annual action plan in light of its effect in terms of boosting industrial development in Bahrain and all over the Gulf," he said.

Al-Ageel tackled the studies that GOIC had prepared specifically for Bahrain throughout the three previous years: "The 2012 Bahrain action plan included a study on the plastic and fibreglass industries with emphasis on analysing the current status and identifying investment opportunities. Furthermore, GOIC prepared four investment opportunities in different sectors, and all of them were presented during the 2013 forum. And in 2014, the Organization completed a study regarding water security in Bahrain from an economic perspective, in addition to four investment opportunities in the area of water desalination with a specific focus on filters." "Upon the request of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, GOIC is currently preparing a study in the field of knowledge-based industries in the Kingdom of Bahrain and another MIS study for Bahrain’s subcontracting and partnership exchange center.

"The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting endeavored to accomplish several joint projects in GCC countries such as an industrial guidebook about industrial energy conservation and efficiency in GCC countries. The Organization also prepared an annual report diagnosing the current situation and future trends of knowledge-based industries in 2012, in addition to the technical cooperation program with the UNIDO: GCC ministers of industry had tasked GOIC with overseeing the preparation of a comprehensive regional program in cooperation with the UNIDO. The first part of this program was implemented in 2012 and resulted in training national GCC cadres through workshops tackling competitiveness, environmental and industrial issues and the Montreal Protocol," he added.
