Indian Air Force Moves 79 Tonnes of Aid for Cyclone Victims


(MENAFN- QNA) Indian Air Force (IAF) has transported 79 tonnes of relief material for victims of Cyclone Hudud in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh state, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said Wednesday.

The Indian Navy has set up 11 community kitchens at five locations to distribute food for cyclone-affected people, India's Ministry of Defence said.

Defence forces rescue teams have cleared blocked roads from the city heading to Bheemlipatnam while removing debris on National Highway 5 is still in progress.

The army has deployed 300 personnel from 54th Infantry Division for relief operations.
