Malaysia Constantly Watching out for Militancy, Extremism


(MENAFN- QNA) The Malaysian government is constantly watching out for militant ideologies and extremism in the country, the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak stressed.

The Prime Minister said this included on those involved in militant activities in Syria and Iraq and also the Islamic State (IS), according to the Malaysian (Bernama) News Agency.

"And as we know, arrests have been made, it shows how serious we are about this matter.

"We will not hesitate to act firmly and on a continuous basis," he told a press conference after chairing an Umno Supreme Council meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre here Tuesday.

He stressed that the close monitoring on militancy and extremism did not mean the risk of violence in the country was high.
