PTI's Khan asks protest outside Sharif's UK flat

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan has asked his party workers in the UK to hold protests outside Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's flat here near Park Lane, but the elected body of PTI has stayed away from protests.

The clear split in the party came into open over the demonstration held outside Sharif family's apartment on Sunday which was led by Sahibzada Jehangir, PTI leader's friend and adviser.

In an email sent to a senior PTI activist on October 9, 2014, Imran Khan advised, when asked, if protests against Sharif's family home should be held: "You should do the demo as his Mayfair flats have been bought by Pakistani taxpayers' money."

On the same date, Dr Humayun Mohmand, a senior PTI leader who looks after international affairs of the party, advised UK chapters in an email that it was PTI's party policy to stage demonstrations against the Sharif family.
