(MENAFN) According to the Korea Customs Service, South Korea has posted a trade surplus for 32 consecutive months last month, driven by solid export growth, Xinhua reported.
The world's third-largest economy's trade surplus reached USD3.43 billion in September, staying in the red for the 32nd consecutive month, customs data showed.
Exports, which account for about 50 percent of the economy, rose 6.9 percent from a year ago to USD47.75 billion in September, while imports gained 8 percent to USD44.32 billion.
Exports to China and the US, South Korea's top trading partners, rose 6.5 percent and 19.9 percent each last month, while those to the EU and Japan dipped 5.1 percent and 6.2 percent each.
